Consent Directory
The Consent Foundation has developed an open-source platform called the Consent Directory — a unified solution designed to simplify and streamline consent compliance under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), 2023.
The Consent Directory will provide a standardized catalogue of consent purpose statements across key industries such as finance, insurance, healthcare, telecom, and e-governance, ensuring that organizations can implement clear, consistent, and compliant consent notices without starting from scratch. Each purpose statement will be specific, pre-translated into all 22 scheduled Indian languages, and ready to use in consent forms and privacy notices, enabling faster adoption and wider accessibility.
By offering predefined, regulator-aligned purposes and standard identifiers for interoperability between Consent Management Platforms (CMPs), data fiduciaries, and processors, the Consent Directory minimizes operational friction and reduces compliance risks. Its structured framework also makes regulatory audits and consent traceability more efficient, helping organizations maintain trust and accountability while focusing on innovation.
